Privacy policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Zemly collects and how we use it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Zemly is run by one person in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for this data; you can reach them at hello@zemly.net (see also our About & contact page).
What we collect
- No accounts or tracking. There are no accounts, forms, comments or newsletters, and we do not use advertising trackers.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the referring site, browser, device type and country. It does not use cookies or store anything on your device, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other websites. We use these totals only to see how the site is used and improve it, relying on our legitimate interest in running the site.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site, send "Grab Code" clicks on to the store, and keep the site secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Your language and currency choice. If you pick a language or currency, your browser remembers it on your own device (browser "local storage", not a cookie) so the next page uses it. It is not sent to us or anyone else, and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us we keep your message and address only as long as needed to reply and keep a reasonable record, then delete it.
Cookies
Zemly does not set analytics or advertising cookies. When you click a "Grab Code" link you leave our site, and the affiliate network and store may set their own cookies to track the visit so we can be credited for a sale. These are governed by their policies, which you should read on their sites. Game pages may include a trailer from YouTube or from Steam. Nothing is loaded from either until you click play. YouTube trailers then use YouTube's privacy-enhanced address and Google may set cookies under its own policy; Steam trailers stream from Steam's servers (which can see your IP address, as with the images below), and in some browsers a small open-source video player (hls.js) is loaded from the Cloudflare cdnjs library to play them. Cover art and screenshots load from third-party servers such as Steam's, which can see your IP address when your browser fetches them. Our visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, see above) are cookie-free. If we add other analytics or similar tools later, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf as described above, and may transfer it outside the UK under safeguards recognised by UK law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it elsewhere. Email us at hello@zemly.net. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
