Nintendo games rarely get big discounts, so eShop gift cards are one of the easiest ways to make your money go further on a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2. Here's what to know before you buy one.
Which cards work in the UK?
Nintendo eShop credit is tied to the region of your Nintendo Account. For a UK account you need a £ (GBP) eShop card. Cards in euros or dollars are for other regions' accounts and won't top up a UK account.
On Zemly, eShop cards are listed by value (for example £15, £25, £50) and only the ones that work in your country are shown.
How to redeem an eShop card
- Open the Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu and choose your account.
- Select Enter Code.
- Type the 16-character code and confirm.
The credit appears straight away. You can also redeem codes on Nintendo's website by signing in to your Nintendo Account.
Saving money on Nintendo games
- Buy discounted eShop cards. Code stores sometimes sell cards for a little under face value, which works like a small discount on everything you buy.
- Compare game keys. Some Switch games are sold as download codes by key stores, often below the eShop price. Zemly compares them on each game's page.
- Watch for eShop sales. Nintendo runs regular sales, and pairing a sale with discounted credit adds up.
Nintendo Switch Online
A Nintendo Switch Online membership is needed for most online play, and membership codes (for example 3 or 12 months) can also be cheaper from code stores. Compare them on our Nintendo Switch Online page.
